What an insult to the artist! Well, really, such a jab wouldn’t be out of place for a pop star like, say, Ed Sheeran, who tops the charts but circles the drain in reviews.
Now that we have that out of the way, we can stop writing Williams’s fanbase off as mallcore sops (full disclosure: the mall rules!!!). They are also a punk band and a rock band and a sometime emo band, but with ten songs marking Billboard charts and platinum certification on three out of four albums, they are ultimately a critically acclaimed pop act. I shall now profess my love - a costly love! - for Williams: personal idol since my tender year of sixteen, widely disliked pop culture figure.īefore we proceed, we must concede: Paramore is a well-reviewed pop band. Twenty One Pilots, among a few sundry pop acts of 2017, also contend for the masses’ scorn, but almost to aggregate effect, as the duo owes their success to industry mentor and Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams. In my experience, the public dislikes Paramore as much as anybody in the radio circuits today. Paramore recently released their first new music since 2013, jaunty rock-nouveau singles “ Hard Times” and “ Told You So,” and hurtled back into the cultural stratosphere. Paramore does a really good job of coupling different elements of rock music with this calming, peaceful ukulele, while holding true to themselves. This is the band’s first album since the departure of members, Josh and Zac Farro. Paramore began streaming the new album on their website over a week before the official release date, which is April 9. “Daydreaming” and “(One of Those) Crazy Girls,” also have the power to mellow out any kind of hostile mood. There are three interludes: “Moving On”, “Holiday” and “I’m Not Angry Anymore” which all use a calm, simple beat, soft vocals and only a few seconds to calm a listener down from all the energy in other tracks. It has a sentimental touch that jumps out at you in the sweetest of ways. In comparison to “The Only Exception,” which is a track on the band’s previous album Brand New Eyes, “Heart Break” may be it’s predecessor. One of the most embracing songs on the album, “I Hate To See Your Heart Break” may provoke the most feeling. They are a complete contrast to the more upbeat tracks, but too much that they feel misplaced overall. Previous albums have not had this many blatant melodies with so much feeling. Paramore has enough love songs on it to fill a sea with emotion. Other songs like the single “Still Into You”, “Now” and “Grow Up,” have the same kind of upbeat nature. It is a good indicator for what is to come for the rest of the album.

With a fun, upbeat vibe, the song talks about wanting to be free and enjoying what life has to offer in the moment. Lead singer, Amy Lee, said the album is about the band and the journey she took to fall back in love with the band.
